Peanut Butter Cup Overnight Oats Ingredients You’ll Need

Gather the ingredients below to make the BEST overnight oats you have ever had! Check out the ingredients below for tips and substitutions.

  • Peanut Butter
    • Use crunchy peanut butter for added texture or creamy for the traditional peanut butter cup texture. Not a peanut butter fan? You can also substitute your favorite nut or seed butter.
  • Oats
    • Rolled oats or old-fashioned oats are the best to use in overnight oats– just make sure to let the oats soak up the liquid for at least 4 hours in the refrigerator for the best texture.
  • Dark Chocolate
    • You can use milk or dark chocolate, we like dark chocolate at our house–and its full of antioxidants!
  • Olive Oil
    • Add a TINY amount of olive oil (or coconut oil) to the chocolate to make it more spreadable and to make it easier to “crack” the top of.
  • Flaky Salt
    • Flaky salt is the BEST ingredient of all time! Add it to anything–and it will elevate it! We add a sprinkle on top of the chocolate layer because YUM!
  • Honey
    • Honey is the BEST sweetener hands down in this recipe. Not only is it a natural sweetener, but peanut butter and honey are a match made in heaven. You can also use pure maple syrup or agave nectar.
  • Almond Milk
    • You can use any milk that you like in your overnight oats. I like to use unsweetened almond milk or soy milk in mine.

Can I Make Overnight Oats with Water?

Technically, yes, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Overnight oats are best with a creamy base. Water will work, but I would only use water in hot oatmeal.
